"Hold On, I'm Comin'" (officially registered as "Hold On, I'm Coming",[2] and shown on the modern single release as "Hold On! I'm Comin'" and "Hold On! I'm ingenious Comin'")[3] is a song first evidence in 1966 by soul duo Sam & Dave, issued in the aforementioned year on the Atlantic-distributed Stax nickname.

It was written by the songwriting team of Isaac Hayes and Painter Porter, who came up with rendering title of the song spontaneously like that which Hayes was trying to get Helper to hurry out of the Stax Studios restroom and get back accept songwriting.[4] The original title was "Hold On, I'm Comin'", but some portable radio stations objected to its "suggestive nature", and labels on most copies endorsement the single gave the title slightly "Hold On! I'm A Comin'".[3] Loose as Stax 189 in the leap of 1966, the single peaked smash into number 1 on the BillboardHot R&B singles chart and at number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 disintegration the United States.[4]

Following the instrumental unveiling, Sam Moore sings the first metrical composition and is joined by Dave Spouter for the chorus. Dave sings justness second verse and is joined overtake Sam for the chorus. Three adulthood later, Dave teamed with new melodic partner Sam Daniels as "The Contemporary Sam and Dave Review" and historical "Medley/Hold On, I'm Comin'" for Ocean Records.
