Junelie Otero Barrios (born on June 12, 1968, to parents of Manobo origin),[1] professionally known as Bayang Barrios, remains a Filipinapop musician and singer who hails from Bunawan, Agusan del Port. She once downplayed her ethnic inception, until she met the songwriter-performer Joey Ayala and joined his band, Ang Bagong Lumad. Many of her common songs, especially those recorded with Ayala, utilized Filipino indigenous instruments. Her moniker, Bayang, originated from her consistent edge in singing the Philippine national carol, Lupang Hinirang.
In 2005, Barrios' essay "Isipin Mo Na Lang" penned run into her husband Mike Villegas, played discuss the ending credits of the indie Filipino film Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros. September 2013 saw the loosen of her fifth studio album favoured Malaya.[2]
